Shaina Helm was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida where she was trained in classical and lyrical ballet for nine years. She studied visual art in the Booker High School visual and performing arts magnet program, and in 2015 she graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in studio art and psychology. She is currently completing her master's in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of South Florida and will be graduating in August 2018.
Throughout her artistic career Shaina Helm has received awards and prizes for her artwork in juried art shows, and has had her work donated and auctioned for charitable organizations such as Sarasota's Evening of Excellence, and the Dance Theatre of Bradenton's Annual Nutcracker. She has exhibited work in galleries throughout Florida and has also exhibited in art galas and events at the NYC Tata Gala, Fogartyville Community Art Center, Gallery 621 at First Friday in Tallahassee's Railroad Square, and others. She has been commissioned to create artwork for collectors across the country, and has donated artwork and designed logos for entities including Booker High School’s VPA Dance program, music by Frost & Ross, John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Respiratory Team, and more.
Shaina Helm is currently working as a behavior therapist at Play on Words Therapy Connections and The Lotus Center for Autism working with children who have autism spectrum disorder.
